Most everyone in history wants to make their mark on the world, to be remembered. They will conquer lands, write famous stories, or start a movement for change. People will use their resounding words in essays and tattoo them on their bodies for years to come.
Then there is you. You’re young and are finding yourself in the big bad world. You have been studying these people who changed the world your whole life and now you can’t help but wish to be like them. You want to be the one to says “no” for the first time and start an uprising, you want to reach out and protect those who need help, and you want to write words that will save someone’s life just as another’s words did for you.
You want to be the reason some kid decides to go to college so they can be like you when they grow up. You want to be the reason someone stays alive for just a little while longer until it gets better. You want to be like the people who saved you, you want to change lives.
But how?
That is the real question. You’re just one person. You don’t really have anything that interesting to say. You don’t know how to go about starting a revolution. Even writing a book seems impossible because all the ideas you have seem silly.
What is a person to do? How do we break free from the monotony of life and make our mark in this magnificent world and keep from being lost in time. How do we make our lives count?
